Bid on Mark Jenkinson lots with the legal position priced in - not exchanged blind.
Mark Jenkinson & Son describes itself as one of the largest online property auction houses in Sheffield and across South Yorkshire, and now operates within BTG Eddisons Property Auctions alongside Pugh, SDL and Network. Two sales run each month, both remote: a multi-lot timed auction opening in the early hours and running over two days, and a live stream auction. Although Sheffield remains the home market, current lots range considerably wider - Preston, Norwich, Cramlington and Batley among them.

How Mark Jenkinson legal packs are structured.
Mark Jenkinson has not been folded away: the site still serves its own branded auction diary with its own lots and its own URLs. What has changed is the operational backing, and some of the published guidance is now shared group copy written for a sister brand - a point worth knowing when reading the general FAQs rather than the lot documents.
Bidding is handled by ATG rather than the EIG passport used across much of the market, and registration closes at 12 noon on the Monday before the auction starts - an earlier cut-off than most, and one that catches out bidders who find a lot late in the week. The addendum can be updated right up to the start of the auction, so the legal position is not settled until bidding opens. A bidding deposit of £2,000 per lot is pre-authorised on the card, reduced to £500 per lot where the lot is guided at Nil reserve; because the pre-authorisation is per lot, bidding across several lots ties up a multiple of that figure. Sales are unconditional: the winning bid becomes a legally binding contract as soon as the auction ends. One practical caution - parts of the published general guidance are boilerplate carried over from a sister brand and refer to a different house by name, so the documents issued for your specific lot should be preferred over the general FAQ wording.

What Mark Jenkinson sells
Residential and commercial stock, with search filters covering HMOs, ground rent investments, public conveniences and pubs, bars and clubs. Despite the Sheffield base, lots regularly sit well outside South Yorkshire, so the local knowledge a regional catalogue usually implies does not necessarily apply to the lot you are looking at. Former operational and unusual buildings raise planning use and alterations questions that ordinary residential stock does not.
